Last week, Legal Aid presented Tim Walsh of Pillsbury, with our Making Justice Real Pro Bono Award.

Legal Aid’s Making Justice Real Pro Bono Award recognizes attorneys who have provided outstanding pro bono service through individual representation and/or leadership in facilitating such representation by their colleagues.

Tim started volunteering with Legal Aid's intake program within weeks of starting at Pillsbury in 2004 and has been a loyal volunteer ever since. Fourteen years later, Tim not only continues coming to Legal Aid on a regular basis to conduct initial interviews with potential clients during our walk-in intake hours, but he also serves as a leader in the program, recruiting new volunteers at Pillsbury and setting an example for more junior colleagues.

In addition to pro bono accomplishments, Tim has been serving as a fundraising coordinator on Legal Aid’s annual Generous Associates Campaign at Pillsbury for over a decade, and was a citywide Co-Chair for the Campaign from 2011 to 2015. The Generous Associates Campaign raises over one quarter of Legal Aid’s annual budget.

Last Monday on June 11, Legal Aid had the pleasure of presenting this award to Tim in front of his peers at a “Celebrity Bartender Event” for the Generous Associates Campaign at Pillsbury.

We are thrilled to have had the opportunity to recognize Tim's long-standing pro bono commitment and his dedication to making justice real for low-income residents in our community.
