Legal Aid’s Board of Trustees unanimously elected Dean Bunch, Annemargaret Connolly, and Sam Feder to join the Board at the May Board meeting.

All three new Board members represent organizations which have long histories with Legal Aid.

Dean Bunch joins Ted Stone as a Board Member from Ernst & Young.  Ted has been indispensible as Legal Aid’s Treasurer since 2008 and has been on the Board since 2003.  Dean is a CPA who is a Partner in Fraud Investigation and Dispute Services at EY.

Annemargaret Connolly succeeds David Berz on the Legal Aid Board from Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP.  David was an extraordinary Board member, who served since 2006 in numerous capacities including most recently as Chair of the Legal Operations Committee and as a Member of the Executive Committee.   In these capacities, David has helped guide Legal Aid’s recent expansions.  David resigned from Weil, effective December 31, 2013, and is now a Director at SEACOR Holdings, Inc.  Annemargaret heads Weil’s Environmental Practice.

Sam Feder joins the Board from Jenner & Block LLP, where he is Chair of the firm’s Communications Practice.  Jenner has done pro bono work with Legal Aid for years.  Indeed, we honored Jenner’s Paul Smith with our Servant of Justice Award in 2013, and he is arguing an important Legal Aid case before the D.C. Court of Appeals in June.

We thank David for his extraordinary service to Legal Aid’s client community and welcome Dean, Annemargaret, and Sam to the Legal Aid Board.
