Generous Associates Campaign in Washington Lawyer Magazine

Thuy-Tu Tran, Senior Development Associate

Two months ago, Legal Aid celebrated a record-shattering Generous Associates Campaign that raised more than $900,000, which by far exceeded our goal of raising $800,000 for our 80th Anniversary.  This tremendous effort would not have been possible without the stalwart support of dedicated associates who led the Campaign, as well as partners, other attorneys, and staff at area law firms who contributed to the Campaign.  As we have shared throughout the Campaign, it is this kind of support that has enabled us to make a difference in the lives of our clients – often with life-changing results in the direst of circumstances.  We thank and congratulate our supporters on being a part of the most successful Generous Associates Campaign in its 23-year history.  We are also happy to share that our success was recently featured in the October 2012 issue of Washington Lawyer Magazine.  As our Executive Director, Eric Angel, said in the article, “It is truly extraordinary that D.C.’s generous associates are able to raise one–fifth of the operating budget of the District’s largest general poverty law program.”  Click here to read more.
