National Law Journal Names Legal Aid’s Julie Becker One of “40 Under 40.”

In the July 13th edition, the National Law Journal honored 40 District of Columbia lawyers under the age of 40 who have already made a mark and are expected to be leaders in the profession.   Legal Aid Senior Staff Attorney Julie Becker was among those honored.   She is one of only two public interest lawyers listed and the only lawyer working full-time on anti-poverty advocacy.   

Julie has dedicated her career to legal work that ensures that low-income District residents have access to decent and affordable housing.   She has represented hundreds of individuals and families, but also pursues reform of the Courts and engages in advocacy before agencies and the District Council.  She is a leader at Legal Aid and throughout the legal services community.

We are proud of Julie’s accomplishments and thrilled that she has received this well deserved recognition.
