Legal Aid expresses concern about the “Jacks-Fogle Family Preservation Case Coordination Act of 2009”

Eric AngelLast week, I testified expressing substantial concerns regarding a bill proposed by the Administration, captioned the “Jacks-Fogle Family Preservation Case Coordination Act of 2009.”  Although we very much support what we presume to be the goals of the proposed legislation – preventing unnecessary tragedies to our most vulnerable residents – Legal Aid joins much of the advocacy community in strongly opposing the bill as currently drafted.  The bill is overly broad, causes significant privacy concerns, and comes with a hefty price tag – at the same time the Administration is threatening drastic cuts to the social safety net.

For more information, see the attached testimony.
