Thx Tianna. FINALLY !!! A project that recognizes two things:

1. that "OGLIGOR-PARENTS need and deserve representation TOO; and

2. Also, that with representation OBLIGOR-PARENTS' responsibilities will better represent their "ABILITIES" and this INCREASES overall payments and involvement of OBLIGOR-PARENTS!!!!!!!

I am amazed how this system and in particular JUDGES don't (or won't) understand this!!

Wonderfully inspiring. Keep up all your good works - I sincerely hope children will also learn of your champion status in my eyes! I think I know one little girl who already feels that way.

This is truly shocking, Beth. Seems to violate what I thought was one of our basic principles: that people are innocent until proven guilty. I hope you will tell us more about how the "one strike" policy has affected subsidized housing tenants in DC. Also if there's anything we can do about it.

The Language Access Act is a good law, but advocates and LEP/NEP individuals must work together to make sure that it is enforced. We must all continue to spread the word about the benefits of the Act and the option of filing a complaint to enforce it.

Congratulations to you for the victory and to Ms. Lopez for her courage to confront negligent landlords. This victory shows other LEPs/NEPs the importance of fighting for their rights and get things on their side. She is our "Shero" in her determination to live in a decent housing conditions and making sure she gets the services in her language. Other LEPs/NEPS will step forward and follow Ms. Lopez' action as easy as it is to file a complaint with the help of Advocates like you at Legal Aid and other organizations.

Thank you again for making this possible. XHTML
