Did you provide 50 or more hours of pro bono service in 2014? If so, the District of Columbia Courts want to recognize you for your contribution!

The District of Columbia Court of Appeals and the Superior Court of the District of Columbia, with the support of the D.C. Access to Justice Commission and the D.C. Bar Pro Bono Program, are calling for applications for the fourth annual Capital Pro Bono Honor Roll, which recognizes and celebrates the pro bono work done by members of the D.C. Bar and those otherwise authorized to practice law in the District.

The Honor Roll includes lawyers who have performed 50 or more hours of pro bono service during the calendar year. Lawyers who performed 100 or more hours qualify for High Honors. All honorees receive special recognition from the D.C. Courts.

Every year since its inception, the number of attorneys registering for the Honor Roll has increased. In 2013, over 4,200 attorneys were recognized, with over 2,500 performing 100 or more hours of pro bono service. “We commend the Capital Pro Bono Honor Roll participants for their service and look forward to sending them and many new honorees our thanks for their contributions in 2014,” said Chief Judge Eric T. Washington and Chief Judge Lee F. Satterfield in an open letter published on the Honor Roll webpage.

Submissions for the 2014 Capital Pro Bono Honor Roll are due by January 31, 2015, so register today! Eligible lawyers can complete the online application themselves or coordinate within their law firms or organizations. Many firms submit bulk applications on behalf of their eligible attorneys.
